Questionable Finally

For the third and final part of the Remix culture projects. I finally have done high-quality renders of the Crawly Binky!



Working in Rhino 7 was interesting. I found that the basic features were able to render synthetic substances like metal, paint, and plastic. This made the spider itself a bit harder to make since it was an organic creature. I decided t make the spider look tougher by giving a metallic texture instead of a realistic organic texture.

I'm satisfied with my work this time, and I hope all of you stay well.

Rhino Paper Modeling

 Following the Rhino surface modelling lesson, the Object Design class was taught how to make flattened surfaces of our 3D objects into printable construction sheets.  The class was taught how to make our surfaces into 2D vectors, how to make flaps so that we could use them to glue our objects together, and how to print our object on Rhino.  From the way flaps are made in Rhino, I noticed that flaps are not that strong, and can easily break if there is too much stress on those parts. I decided that I would redesign my object so that each connection point is more secure. I decided to make the object closer to the octagon shape like the mouthpiece and made the joining points of the tubes at a 45-degree angle. Tinker CAD Pen model

               In Object Design course at AUArts, I watched a documentary called Objectified by Gary Hurwitz. The video talked about the process in which objects are made, the range of common objects like toothbrushes, to more elaborate computers and smart devices. The documentary can be considered mundane because people are both used to common objects and not giving much thought to them. However, the thoughts, philosophies, and elaborate brainstorming that each designer in the documentary show are constructed deeply and have a resonating impact. Each object's design is given special care to make people's life convenient and appeal to their aesthetic sense. These objects leave a mark on the world and show a part of their designer to everyone who uses it.  Although it wasn't necessary for the assignment, I decided to start with some sketches and brainstorming.
